August 28th, 2006....my day!
Hello world! I have finally arrived but to tell you the truth, live was simpler inside. Sleep, kick, and swim. Now there's a lot more to it but I am eager to get my life started.
Let me tell you how I arrived. It was sunday morning, around 3am that my mamita started knowing I wanted out of the belly. Around 8am they took me to the Victoria Hospital in London and after a few exams, they said I wasn't ready. That I would come within 24 hours but not yet........well, after a long day at home getting ready, my parents finally took me back to the hospital around 10:30 pm. Fortunately the nurse said we were staying because I was ready for the show!
My mamita was in a lot of pain but my papito was there to help her. The stayed in a very small room until a larger one would be ready. I don't remember the room but it was big with a lot of lights, machines and comfortable chairs.
At 4am the nurse checked us and she said I was ready to come. My mamita started pushing and pushing and I started working my way out. Doctor Usher, Doctor Ho and nurse Tammy helped me out. As soon as I came out I hugged my mamita and I opened my eyes for the first time. I also cried a little and I had a long cord attched to me. they finally cut it out and I just stayed warm with my mamita while my silly papito kept flashing his camera at me.
Later on they sent to us to our room up in the 4th floor. It was a room with another baby but I never saw her. My mamita was not too comfortable but I think she managed. Around 7:30 am, my apo (grandma) Chuy came to visit and help and also so that my papito could go and pick up my abuelita Rosalba. We all stayed there for a while and the nurses and doctors kept checking me and my mamita to make sure we were OK.
My Akun(grandpa) came to visit around 3pm becuase he was working. He was all over me and they said he needed a bucket next to him because he was slobbering all over the place. They all took turns carrying me, feeding me and helped change me.
That night, only the 3 of us stayed and it was a long night. My parents were trying to figure out what I needed and I made them work for it! hehehe. Fortunately the morning came and after a few last minute check-ups, I was sent home!
